A Day of Joy Annual Goody Bag Picnic

Every year since 2008, the Society for Child Development (SfCD) has been hosting its much-loved Annual Goody Bag Picnic—a day dedicated entirely to joy, laughter, and inclusion for children with disabilities. In recent years, the picnic has been held at Children’s Park near India Gate, New Delhi, a bright and open space that perfectly matches the spirit of the event. From the moment the children arrive, the atmosphere is electric—music fills the air, feet are moving, and dancing continues almost the entire time, with smiles that never seem to fade.

One of the most anticipated parts of the day is, of course, the goody bags. Thoughtfully packed with food, snacks, and treats, these bags are more than just gifts—they are symbols of care, celebration, and shared happiness. Children clutch them with pride, often sneaking peeks inside between dance breaks.

The event is made even more special with the generous support of Parikrama, the iconic Indian rock band, whose sponsorship adds energy and heart to the day. Their association reflects a powerful message: that inclusion, joy, and community are causes worth standing behind.

What began as a simple picnic has grown into a cherished tradition—one where music, movement, food, and togetherness come together to remind us that every child deserves a day filled with freedom, fun, and belonging. SfCD’s Goody Bag Picnic is not just an event; it’s a celebration of life, held year after year, with love at its core.
